Can I ask for some advance in case the repair charges are very high?
We provide cashless claim service, wherein you are not liable to pay for the repair charges, as ICICI Lombard directly pays it to the garage. This is called the cashless facility. However if you wish to go for the non- cashless service and are unable to pay the entire charges, you have to intimate the same to the agent and ICICI Lombard would do the rest of the payment.

What is the claim procedure adopted by the company for settlements?
ICICI Lombard adopts the following procedure once the claim form is filled and filed along with the necessary documents.
The surveyor attends the claim within 24 hours from the time of intimation.
Take photographs, assess, estimate and inform assessed estimates to the User within the same day of assessment.
After the completion of the job, the Surveyor carries out re-inspection. The insured then makes payment to the workshop/ garage as per the surveyor’s assessed estimation and releases a proof of release document. (The proof of release is an authenticated document signed by the insured to release his vehicle from the garage after it is checked and repaired).
Lastly, the insured submits the original bill, proof of release and cash receipt (derived from the garage) to the surveyor.
The surveyor then sends the claim file to the Insurance Company for settlement along with all the documents.
Insurance company then reimburses the Customer within seven working days from the date of receipt of claim file.

I currently have a policy with other company, will I get the NO CLAIM bonus if I renew it with you?
In the event of no claims, you would avail of the 'NO CLAIM' bonus, i.e., there would be a reduction of 20% for payment of premium in the second year and 25% in the third year. Kindly go through our policy wordings to get the details of the same.

If you do not make any claim over a period of time, a No Claim Bonus (NCB) is offered on renewals. This discount can go as high as 50%. However, if there is any claim, the discount (NCB) will be zero for the next renewal.

Therefore, before making small claims, one should be careful. Especially, when you have a high NCB.

You will get full benefit of No Claim Bonus, even when you shift your motor insurance policy to ICICI Lombard from any other insurance company.

What is the meaning of deductibles? What is the deductible applicable to a Private Car?
Deductible is the portion of your claim that is not insured under your policy. ICICI Lombard is responsible for the amount over your deductible (up to your policy limit).
Voluntary deductible is the amount that you have to compulsorily bear during the event of a claim. For e.g., if your claim amount is Rs. 10,000 and the voluntary deductible is Rs. 3000, then you have to bear the first Rs. 3000 and the claim will be worth Rs. 7000. Discount on the premium is given for choosing higher deductible.
