The insured’s ‘family’ includes his parents, wife and children.

Is there an age limit for insuring my parents and family under this policy?
Yes. The minimum age of the insured should be 3 months and maximum age should be 70 years (as on last birthday). However, the policy can be renewed up to the age of 75 years.

What are the advantages of Parents' Health Insurance?
The advantages of Parents' Health insurance are as follows-
Pre-existing illnesses can be covered after the 4th year provided the policy is renewed with us for four consecutive years.
Reimbursement of return airfare (Rs. 20,000 for Plan 2 and Rs. 10,000 for Plan 1) of the NRI (applicant) in case he is required to visit his dependent (insured) who has been hospitalised due to specified medical emergencies - Stroke, Heart Attack (MI), Coronary Artery Bypass, Graft Surgery, Kidney Failure, End-stage Renal Failure, End-stage Liver Disease and Brain Tumour Surgery.
Nursing care benefit of Rs. 500 per day for a maximum of 3 days, in case the insured requires nursing care post discharge.
Cashless claims facility at over 4,500 network hospitals across India. Click here to locate the network hospital in your locality.
Every insured under this policy is provided a free health check-up post issuance of policy. For anyone above 55 years of age, cashless benefit will be activated as soon as the health check-up process is completed.
Income tax benefit u/s 80 D for your income in India.
Parents' Health offers a 2-year cover for your dependents against a single premium, with automatic renewal after the first year.
The policy can be renewed up to the age of 75 years.

How would my parents in India know about the details of the policy?
Once you avail of our policy, our executives shall call your dependants in India and explain them the details of the coverage and claims process.

Is a medical checkup necessary?
ICICI Lombard provides free medical checkup of the insured after the policy is bought. However, below 55 years of age, it is not necessary to get you check up done. But for insured above 55 years of age, medical checkup is mandatory. It is only after this checkup that the cashless benefit would be activated.

If medical checkup is not mandatory below 55 years of age, why should one go for it?
It is advisable to get the medical checkup done to avoid any doubts or ambiguity at the time of claims. As everything is on record, there is no room for confusion and rejection of your claim.

What is a pre-existing disease?
A pre-existing disease is any disease that the insured is already suffering from at the time of applying for the policy.e.g. Hypertension, Diabetes.

What do you mean by Cashless Hospitalisation?
Under Cashless Hospitalisation there is no need for you to settle the hospitalization expenses at the time of taking discharge from hospital. The settlement would be done directly by the insurance company. However, prior approval is required from the Third-Party Administrator (i.e TTK Health Services Pvt. Ltd) before the patient is admitted into the hospital. In case of emergency hospitalisation, approval can be obtained post-admission. Contact our Third Party Administrator (TPA) TTK Health Services help-line at 1800 42 58885 / 1800 42 57878 (Toll Free & Accessible only in India). You can also fax them at the toll free number 1800 233 4535 and call at their landline number 080-25026700.

How does one claim?
If you will be undergoing a planned hospitalisation, please do inform TTK in advance about the hospitalisation. Once the approval has been obtained, you can get admitted into the hospital.

In case of an unfortunate event, and emergency hospitalization is required, approval from TTK can be obtained after admission into the hospital.

How would I know if the insured has filed a claim?
We would inform you via e-mail and SMS when the insured files a claim. The e-mail is sent to the ID entered while registering on our website. SMS is sent only to Indian mobile numbers.

What benefits does Parents' Health have over other health plans?
Advantages of Parents' Health Insurance over other health insurance policies are:
Pre-existing illness cover after four years of continuous policy coverage.
Reimbursement of return airfare to visit your insured family members when they are hospitalised.
Nursing care benefit of Rs. 500 per day for a maximum of 3 days.
Free health check-up after the policy is issued to every insured.
2-year continuous covers for your dependents against a single premium, with automatic renewal after the first year.
Maximum entry age up to 70 years (as on last birthday). Most other insurance companies allow entry up to the age of 60 years only.
No medical check up before issuing the policy. All other insurance companies have compulsory medical check-ups for 45 years and above age group. (Under Parents' Health insurance, for insured above 55 years of age, medical check up is mandatory after the issuance of policy.)
We call up your family members, after you have bought the policy, to explain the policy coverage and claims process in detail. No other insurance company has this service.
You can track the status of your health claims online.
A single policy certificate for both your parents under Parents' Health policy i.e. no need to carry different insurance certificates for each insure.
