In case of transfer of vehicle, the following procedure has to be followed.
Procedure
 | Transferee shall apply in writing to the insurance company within 14 days from the date of transfer. In case of a Package policy, the transferee shall seek the consent of transferor. |
| The application should mention the following details:- |
a) Details of registration of the vehicle.
b) Date of transfer of the vehicle.
c) Details about the previous owner of the vehicle.
d) Number and date of the insurance policy.
| On receipt of the application, the insurer shall make necessary changes and issue a fresh Certificate of Insurance. |
| No Claim Bonus (NCB) in case of transfer would be adjusted according to the transferee’s entitlement. |
| The transferee has to submit a fresh proposal form. |
| The old Certificate of Insurance ought to be surrendered to the insurance company along with the requisite fee. |
| Insurance company would issue a new Certificate of Insurance. |
