The hard copy of the policy will reach you within 7 working days. However, you can buy online within 15 minutes and take print out of the policy instantly. This works as a legally valid document, even at the time of claims, as all you need to have is your passport details and policy number. Will I get refund if I cancel my policy? The policy bought online will be cancelled and the amount refunded on a pro-rata basis provided no claims have been made subject to minimum 30 days left for the policy to expire. United HeathGroup is the leading health care services provider in the US. This tie-up will give all our travellers access to United Healthcare’s network of hospitals & physicians However, for registering any claims – medical or non-medical, you need to call our Associate Service Provider (ASP) - Europe Assistance. They are the assistance service provider who will settle your claims abroad on our behalf. What is the added feature or service that I can avail through United HealthGroup which are different from that of Europe Assistance? Our tie-up will give all our travellers access to United Healthcare’s network of hospitals & physicians. This also means that when you avail services from a hospital under the United HealthGroup network, you do not have to pay any extra charges. The services that we provide through our Associate Service Provider (ASP) Europe Assistance are claims related, be it medical or non-medical, to be availed worldwide. What is an Immigrant Visa? An immigrant visa is required for anyone who wishes to enter a country to reside there permanently. To receive an immigrant visa, one has to meet certain requirements usually in education, family or work field, depending on the immigration laws of that particular country. You can extend the policy any number of times provided the total duration of the policy is less than or equal to 360 days Can I buy Overseas Travel Insurance If I am traveling on an immigrant visa? What if I lose my passport? Is that covered? Yes, passport loss is covered in our policy. Expenses incurred towards the procurement of a duplicate / temporary passport are also covered. What happens if my baggage is delayed for more than one day but not lost? ICICI Lombard Individual Overseas Travel Insurance policy covers checked-in baggage loss and delay. If your baggage is delayed for more than 12 hours, the compensation for emergency items purchased, like medicines, clothing and toiletries, would be given. If your baggage is lost, then compensation for the market value of the items lost is given. What do I do if I fall sick when I am overseas? In case of an emergency, go to the hospital and avail the treatment. In the event of an accident or illness, what if it is not possible to consult a physician or a doctor? In an event of an accident or illness if it is not possible to contact a physician or doctor, an alarm centre should be contacted immediately. They will help organise medical services for you. If I take a 2 month Travel Insurance Policy, would I be able to extend it later, as per my requirement? Yes, you can extend your Overseas Travel Insurance Policy very easily, online. We would however, recommend you to buy the policy for the full duration, as the extension depends on the terms and conditions of the Company. Please refer to the Policy wording for details. In case you decide to shorten your stay before the policy expires, you can reimburse the premium for unused policy duration (minimum unused period must be 30 days). For instance, if you take a policy with initial duration of six months but later decide to come back earlier, you can reimburse the premium for unused policy duration provided you are in India by the end of fifth month. Is there cover for pre-medical conditions like Diabetes? Pre-existing condition would be covered in case of life-threatening situations. Do you cover Pre-existing for normal visit? Pre-existing condition would be covered in case of life-threatening situations or in the case of acute pain, till the patient is brought to a stable condition. If the Insured Person is hospitalised for more than 2 days, we provide a daily allowance of $25 as compensation. This benefit can be claimed only once during the Policy period and for a maximum of 5 days. Does this mean that everytime I get hospitalized or visit a doctor, the first US$ 100 will have to be paid by me? Yes, in case of hospitalization, the first USD 100 has to be paid by you. In case of physician visit, USD 100 per illness. For example if you visit a doctor for malaria and he charges you a fee of USD 75 per visit, and you need to visit him five times the total bill in this case would be USD 375, you'd have to pay the first USD 100 and rest USD 275 will be paid by the company. What is the deductible that you have? There is a Deductible/Policy Excess of US $ 100. This implies for any claim the first $100 is to be borne by the insured. This deductible is applicable on per illness (complete treatment) basis and not on per visit to the doctor / hospital. However, we do not have any co-pays. Similarly, there is a deductible of $50 for loss of passport and a policy excess of 12 hours in case your airplane is hijacked. If hospitalisation is for more than 2 consecutive days, this benefit can be cleared only once during the policy period:- Does this mean that the insured will have to bear hospitalisation expenses for the first 2 days? This deductible is for daily allowance (US$ 25 per day for max five days ) and not for hospitalisation. This allowance is for expenses other than hospitalisation expenses. For example, if some one has been admitted in the hospital, there will be some expenses other than the hospital charges such as transportation etc, this allowance will help you cover these expenses. If one is admitted for 5 days, the allowance will not be paid for first 2 days, but for next 3 days it will be paid. Benefit can be cleared only once during the policy period - the benefit would be given only on the first hospitalisation. If the person is again hospitalised, he would not be eligible for the same. Do you settle my claim when I am back in India? Except in the case of financial emergency, we can also settle claims, once you are back in India and also when you are abroad. We also have a cashless facility in case of hospitalization. Please register your claims through our Associate Service Provider (ASP) Europe Assistance. They will arrange for the cashless facility for you in the nearest hospital. So whether you claim abroad or when you are back in India, the claims would be settled with our Associate Service Provider (ASP). In case of hospitalisation how will I get a cashless facility?
