 | Festival Canadien des Tulipes Major's Hill Park, Mackenzie Ave at Murray St, Ottawa May 2nd through May 19th, 2008 Ottawa is the tulip capital of North America and not surprisingly it plays host to the largest tulip festival in the world. On display are over 3 million tulips during this ten-day annual event. The history of this event dates to 1945, when Netherlands' Princess Juliana gifted 100,000 tulip bulbs to the city. Entrance fee applicable. |
 | Canada Day Celebrations Major's Hill Park, Mackenzie Ave at Murray St, Ottawa July 1, 2008 Ottawa celebrates Canada Day every year on July 1st. The event is organized under the supervision of Canadian Parliament buildings. On-site celebratory features include incredible firework show apart from food stalls and various entertainments. |
 | Buskerfest Sparks Street Mall, Sparks St, Ottawa- K1P 5E3 August 2008 This is the country's second largest busker fest held every year in August. This is a complete family event and you can enjoy entertaining acts by comedians, storytellers, magicians, musicians, jugglers, fire-eaters, dancers and mimes. |
 | Winterlude / Bal de neige Rideau Canal & Dows Lake, 1001 Queen Elizabeth Driveway, Ottawa- K1S 5K7 February 2009 This popular event is held every February and draws over 700,000 people. Entertaining activities such as snowmobile races, dog sledding, ice-carving, horse-drawn sleigh rides and snow golf are organized. Ice-skating can be enjoyed on Rideau Canal- the largest naturally frozen (in winters) ice rink in the world. |
 | Bluesfest of Ottawa LeBreton Flats, Booth St at Scott St, Ottawa, ON July 3rd through July 13th, 2008 This internationally famous musical event was first organized in 1994. Since then it is held annually and the past performers include James Brown, Wilson Pickett, George Thorogood & the Destroyers, R.L.Burnside and Blues Traveler. Held in various venues in City Hall area. |
