 | West Edmonton Mall 8882 170 St NW, Edmonton- T5T 4M2 This is actually a massive, extravagant and a must see shopping and entertainment mall. When traveling to Canada, a visit here has to be there on your itinerary, There are more than 800 stores and over 110 restaurants here. But wait! That's just the tip of the iceberg. There's also an amusement park, a lake, dolphin lagoon, bungee jumping, ice skating rink, and a replica of Columbus' "Santa Maria." This mall was built in four different phases and that probably is the best way to navigate and enjoy here. |
 | Devonian Botanic Garden Hwy 60, University of Alberta, Edmonton- T6G 2E1 This 80-acre garden is located approximately 30-minutes drive to the west of downtown. There are lovely varieties of flowers and themed gardens including the Japanese and alpine. Other interesting sights here include a herb garden, Native Peoples garden and a desert garden. There are special beds devoted to the varieties of peonies, roses, rhubarbs and lilies. Also visit the orchid greenhouse and the butterfly house. |
 | Art Gallery of Alberta 100-10230 Jasper Ave, Enterprise Square, Edmonton- T5J 2C1 The first exhibit was held here in 1924, which consisted of art work mostly borrowed from other museums. Today this museum has over 5000 works that are displayed in its permanent gallery on a rotational basis. On display are sculptures, photographs, paintings and performance arts. |
