New Zealand Travel Guidelines
|
Health and Medical Requirements

The New Zealand authorities need to know that you have an acceptable health standard. This is to ensure that you can undertake the work or study for which entry has been granted and that you shall not impose excessively on New Zealand's health and special education services.
People with active pulmonary tuberculosis (TB) or a high probability of requiring publicly funded health services during their stay in New Zealand are disallowed entry.
The publicly funded health services could be high cost pharmaceuticals, disability services, hospitalization or residential care.
Applicants who intend to stay for over 6 months and have TB risk factors need to submit (on application) a Temporary Entry X-ray certificate.
Applicants who intend to stay over 12 months need to submit (on application) a Medical and Chest X-ray Certificate.
Unless a special report is required, pregnant women and children below 11 years do not need to submit a Chest X-ray certificate.
