Visa Overview

 | New Zealand has a visa waiver agreement with 53 countries. Depending upon your country of origin a visa may be required. |
 | The maximum visa-free stay is for three months (six for British nationals). |
 | Transit passengers will require a visa to travel via New Zealand, unless exempted by Immigration Policy. |
 | New Zealand provides Visitor's, Work, Student and Business Visas. For details, kindly check the official website. |
 | A visitor's visa is valid for a maximum of nine months. |
 | All foreign visitors need to furnish proof of onward travel and sufficient funds (NZ$ 1000 per person per month) to support themselves in New Zealand. |
 | When applying for a Visa, New Zealand authorities need you to possess good health, a good character and ensure that your visa request matches the purpose of your visit. |
 | On a visitor's visa or permit, you are not allowed to work or study in New Zealand. You are expected to follow New Zealand laws and limit your stay to the granted period. |
 | Your passport must be valid for a minimum of three months beyond the intended departure date. Also, it should not be excessively worn, damaged or defaced. |
 | Your visa application will be rejected if you have a history of committing serious crimes. See Section 7(1) of Immigration Act. The application may also be rejected if it is incomplete, provides false information or does not meet New Zealand's requirements. |
 | Indian visitors will require a visa to visit New Zealand. |
 | The Immigration New Zealand, New Delhi (part of Department of Labor in New Zealand) issues visas to Indian, Bangladeshi and Bhutanese applicants. The main office is at New Zealand High Commission at New Delhi. Other offices are at Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Cochin. |
