Visa Overview

 | Visitor visa for for people traveling to Australia are of two basic types – short stay tourist visa and long stay tourist visa. |
 | Short stay tourist visa can either be of a short validity or long validity. |
 | Short Stay Tourist Visa (Short Validity) enables the visitor to stay for up to 3 months on each visit within a 12 month period from the date of grant. |
 | Short Term Tourist Visa (Long Validity) on the other hand enables a visitor to stay up to 3 months on each visit within a 4 year period from the date of grant. |
 | Long Stay Tourist Visa is valid up to 4 years and enables a visitor to stay for a period of six months(if requested) on each visit. |
 | A visitor visa applicant who is 70 years of age or more needs to undergo a medical examination by panel doctors. The medical examination form and the list of panel doctors would be provided when they lodge for application. |
 | Visitors who are likely to enter a hospital or other health care environment, a classroom environment, including preschool, crèche and child care situations and are known or suspected of having a medical condition are also required to undergo a medical examination by panel doctors. |
 | Costs associated with health examinations are the responsibility of the applicant. |
 | For Permanent visa applicants, all members of their immediate family, including dependent family members who do not intend to migrate, must meet the health requirement. |
 | Different visas are available for business visits, provisional business development and permanent business development. |
