Baggage Delay

Pointers
  • You can make a claim for delay of Checked-in Baggage provided the delay is more
    than 12 hours
  • You can reimburse expenses that you may need to pay for emergency purchase of
    toiletries, medication or clothing, not exceeding a maximum of $100


Documents Required
  • Duly completed Claim Form with your signature
  • Copy of passport, visa with entry and exit stamp
  • Copies of boarding pass, ticket and baggage tags
  • Copies of correspondence with the Airline authorities/others about delay of checked baggage
  • Property Irregularity Report (PIR - a written proof from the carrier) from the Airline authorities stating the period of delay
  • Original bills/receipts/invoices for any necessary emergency purchases like toiletries, medication and clothing
  • Details of compensation received from airlines and other authorities


Claim Process
  • If the delay is more than 12 hours, inform the Airline authorities of the baggage delay andlodge a complaint
  • Obtain a Property Irregularity Report (PIR) from the Airline authorities clearly stating the period of baggage delay
  • Fill in the Claim Form and submit all the documents and file your claim immediately on your return back to India
  • The claim will be settled within 15 days of having received all the completed documents
