With the changing economy, automobile manufacturers are launching a diverse range of cars in India.

The Indian auto market is slowly adapting to changing mindsets, with customers demanding international level of quality and style in a robust and diverse economy. Most of the international automakers are already present in the Indian market and are helping in bringing about latest technology, innovation and techniques to the sector.

The evolving taste of the Indian car consumer can be seen in the models being offered by manufacturers. Here are some of the upcoming cars that will be in the market this year.

Jeep Renegade

The off road buyers crave for some brands because of their rigidity, drivability and ruggedness. Jeep is one such brand that the adventurers desire. The Jeep’s entry-level SUV, the Jeep Renegade will be Jeep’s most affordable offering with an expected price tag of ₹12 lakh. The Renegade will be available in four variants namely Sport, Latitude, Altitude and Trailhawk. It could be fitted with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol and diesel engine with both producing around 140 bhp.

Rolls-Royce Phantom

The eighth generation of the uber luxurious Rolls-Royce Phantom has already been revealed internationally. The car will be powered by a twin-turbo 6.75-litre V12 engine capable of 563 bhp and 900 Nm of torque. The drive is sent to the wheels with the help of a satellite-aided 8-speed transmission made by ZF.

Maruti Suzuki Swift

The new Indian Maruti Suzuki Swift has already been revealed. The bookings are on and the launch is just around the corner. This car will be powered by the same engines as before, the 1.2 litre petrol and 1.3 litre diesel engines. The standard 1.2 litre unit has a four-cylinder engine which produces 83 bhp/115Nm power and torque while the diesel unit produces 75bhp/190 Nm. The car has an elegant and streamlined shape and it comes with trimmed headlamps, refined grille and a trendy bumper. The car is equipped with dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera and cruise control.

Mahindra MPV

Auto maker Mahindra will launch an MPV which is known by the codename U321. It will have the distinction of being the first Mahindra MPV in which the chassis of the vehicle is integrated in its body, also called a monocoque chassis. The MPV will be powered with a new 1.6-litre diesel engine that can deliver power of 130 bhp. The MPV will be equipped with automatic climate control, push-button start and electrically adjustable wing mirrors.
