Vehicle Registration Process in Mumbai

The procedures listed below can be used to register a vehicle:

  1. Visit the RTO Mumbai office in your state or city and turn in the necessary paperwork and completed forms.
  2. Send in the demand draft for the amount owed on the road tax.
  3. As instructed by the RTO officers, turn in the registration form and the necessary paperwork.
  4. Cover the processing fees.
  5. The procedure typically takes two or three days. It might take longer in some circumstances.
  6. The RTO will assign a vehicle number following the completion of processing and verification.

Transfer of Ownership Of A Registered Vehicle in Mumbai

You can take the following actions to change the ownership of a registered car:

  • Complete the relevant RTO forms (Forms 29 and 30).
  • Get an NOC from the state in which the car was first registered. If the car is purchased with financing, the financier must provide the NOC.
  • Obtain your PUC certification.
  • Safely obtain a certificate of auto insurance.
  • Pay all relevant fees and traffic taxes.
  • Full registration of the car.
  • Confirm the purchase and sale of a car.
  • Send in proof of age, proof of address and passport-sized photos.
