The challenges in the insurance industry and the accelerating pace of developments have provided the much-needed impetus to ICICI Lombard to enhance its performance. In November 2005, ICICI Lombard became the first private sector general insurance company to cross the Rs. 10 billion GWP mark. It has recorded a Gross Written Premium (GWP) of Rs.3,003 Crores for the year ending 31st March, 2007 with a growth of 89% as compared to the corresponding period last year. The company is growing at a steady pace and has carved a niche for itself in the general insurance segment.
