The Regional Transport Office (RTO) oversees all transport-related activities in all the states and UTs of India. Each state and UT has its own RTO. RTOs are responsible for enforcing the regulations laid down in the Motor Vehicles Act of 1988.

RTOs play a significant role in managing a comprehensive database of all operational vehicles nationwide. They are responsible for issuing driver’s licenses, collecting road taxes, conducting pollution checks, and ensuring the stringent enforcement of road transportation regulations. RTOs also actively strive to improve road and vehicle safety.

Four-Wheeler Insurance In Pondicherry

In India, the Motor Vehicles Act makes car insurance mandatory, especially third-party insurance. You also have the option to choose between comprehensive car insurance and third-party insurance. Third-party insurance covers liabilities towards third parties. Comprehensive car insurance is a better investment as it provides broader protection. It protects in case of accidents, theft, etc., in addition to third-party liabilities.

The benefits of comprehensive coverage extend to damage or loss incurred by your insured vehicle, even during transit. This insurance type also takes care of third-party liabilities. Hence, comprehensive car insurance offers a more comprehensive and all-encompassing safeguard for your vehicle and your legal obligations.
