Green energy is increasingly becoming important for combating climate change and promoting sustainability. In line with the global agenda of addressing climate change and sustainable use of natural resources, we, at ICICI Lombard, have undertaken initiatives to promote the generation and usage of renewable energy by the communities through the installation of solar panels. In FY2022, we undertook the initiative to install solar panels in schools and as a pilot project, installing 10 solar panels.

In FY2023, the scope was increased and solar panels were installed across 95 underprivileged schools in Mumbai, Patna, and Agartala to promote sustainability and climate change awareness. It helped the schools to overcome the challenge of power cuts efficiently with lower electricity bills and minimal maintenance charges thereby being eco-friendlier and sustainable. It will further help in reducing GHG emissions and enable us to claim carbon emission reductions per year.
