But now IRDAI has given rights to policyholders to port their health insurance policies without losing the accumulated benefits.

    As per the latest guidelines by the IRDAI, the new insurer will allow for the credit gained by the policyholder for pre-existing conditions in terms of waiting period. The portability is not only applicable when you move an existing policy from one insurer to another but also when you move from one plan to another with the same insurer.

    What Are The Rights Of A Policyholder?

    Under the Health Insurance Portability scheme, as a policyholder, you have the following rights:

    • Option to transfer your policy to and from any health insurance or general insurance company
    • You can transfer any health insurance policy be it individual or family

    • Anulom Vilom - Sit in a relaxed lotus posture. Using the thumb, press the sides of the right nostril to close it and breathe through the left nostril. Now using the ring and middle finger, press the side of the left nostril and exhale through the open right nostril. Next inhale through the right nostril and exhale through the left nostril. Repeat this for 25 times in the beginning and take it up to 200 times.
