With the festive season in full swing, the top auto companies are set to launch several new models in the upcoming months. If you have been waiting for the perfect pick of the season, here are a few models to look out for:
Maruti Cervo
Maruti's Cervo, to be launched in India in early 2016, has already been launched in several foreign countries with minor variations. Company sources reveal that the engine will be the same as the one being used for Alto K10 and Wagon-R. Featuring a spacious cabin and classy interiors, the Cervo is a good choice as a family car.
Being launched under the hatchback segment, the price range is estimated at Rs. 2.25-3.25 lakhs. With an average mileage of 15-16 kmpl and a stylish appearance, the Cervo is a great buy from a trusted brand.
Tata Megapixel
Tata Motors will soon launch its REEV (range extended electric vehicle), Megapixel. It will run on lithium ion battery with an inbuilt charging facility. Fuel efficient with a mileage of up to 100 kmpl, auto-lovers are hopeful of a performance similar to the Mahindra e20. Innovative design, ultramodern finish, low carbon emission and "zero turn" drive are other attractive features. Expected to launch in January 2016, its price range is Rs. 5-7 lakhs.
Maruti Baleno YRA
Baleno is Maruti's answer to Hyundai's i20 and Volkswagen's Polo. It will fulfill the dreams of the Maruti loyalists who demanded Maruti's Swift in a bigger hatchback version. It is designed to be longer, wider and more spacious with enhanced comfort and safety features. The expected launch date is October 2015 and the price range is Rs. 5-8 lakhs.
Chevrolet Spin
Spin away in Chevrolet's Spin, which will be launched under the MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) segment. Currently available in Indonesia, Thailand and Brazil, General Motors is set to expand its market in India with this one. Its refreshing and majestic appeal will offer a direct competition to Maruti's Ertiga. Spin's expected launch is in January 2016 within a price range of Rs. 8-11 lakhs.
Fiat Viaggo
Fiat's Viaggo was introduced in the auto expo held in Beijing, China in 2012 and is expected to be launched in India in December 2015. Its superior chassis gives it a classy and sporty finish. Designed for luxury, the premium segment Viaggo is expected to cost Rs. 10-14 lakhs.
