What Should Your Diet For Type A Blood Group Include?

The Type A blood group diet suggests a primarily plant-based approach. Recommended foods include leafy greens, broccoli, carrots, fruits like apples and berries, plant proteins such as tofu and lentils, and whole grains like wheat, oats, and quinoa. The diet recommends limiting dairy products, red meat, and processed foods, which may be harder to digest for A-positive individuals.

While the idea of eating based on your blood type has been around for decades, with roots in older naturopathic beliefs, it gained popularity in 1996. It was Dr. Peter D’Adamo who introduced the concept in his book “Eat Right 4 Your Type,” suggesting that people with A-positive blood type are better suited for a plant-based diet. While this approach is widely debated, some followers of the blood type diet believe it helps with digestion and energy levels.

Diet for people with A+ blood type:

According to the blood type diet for type A-positive individuals, the ideal foods include:

  • Veggies such as leafy greens, broccoli, and carrots.
  • Fruits like apples, berries, and a range of citrus fruits.
  • Proteins in the form of tofu, lentils, and peanuts.
  • Grains such as whole wheat, oats, and quinoa.
  • Limit dairy products such as yoghurt and cheese, and red meat and processed foods, as they could be harder to digest for A-positive blood group individuals.

Why does following an A-positive blood type diet matter?

While the blood group A and diet connection is not scientifically vetted, but some find benefits in following this eating pattern. Regardless of diet choices, a comprehensive health insurance or plan could ensure access to timely medical guidance and wellness.
