An aluminium plate affixed with a vehicle number identifies all vehicles’ registrations. This plate displays the vehicle registration number. Anyone who owns a vehicle must obtain car insurance for their car and two-wheeler insurance for their bikes.
Red Number Plate
The letters and numbers on the plate indicate specific information about the vehicle.
Different types of number plates exist for different transport purposes, such as red number plates for brand-new vehicles, blue number plates for foreign missions and embassies, and number plates with upward-pointing arrows used by military vehicles etc.
A red registration plate is assigned for brand-new vehicles. It signifies that the new vehicle is waiting for the permanent registration number. The RTOs in India are responsible for assigning temporary and permanent numbers for the vehicles being operated in the country. A red number plate signifies a temporary registration number valid for 30 days only. It displays a number in white letters on a red plate.
