Let’s discover the fruit’s benefits.

Is Guava Good for Heart?

Is guava good for heart patients? Let us understand this in the article.

Guava is good for heart because it is rich in antioxidants and vitamins that protect the heart from free radicals. Guavas are rich in potassium and soluble fibre, which, again, are good for the heart. The consumption of guava leaves has also been associated with reducing "bad" LDL cholesterol levels and increasing "good" HDL cholesterol levels.

A study conducted on 120 individuals found that consuming ripe guava before meals helped them reduce blood pressure by 8-9 percentage points, lower cholesterol levels by 9.9%, and increase HDL cholesterol levels by 8%. As we all know, high blood pressure and high levels of LDL cholesterol levels are linked to an increased risk of heart disease and stroke. Hence, consuming guava leaf extract could be beneficial to those with heart problems. Moreover, the rich sodium and potassium content in guava helps the body balance and regulate high blood pressure.

Conclusion

We have looked into the beneficial properties of guava in driving heart health. The fruit can be consumed in the form of smoothies and salads. The other benefits of guava include relieving constipation, preventing cancer cell growth, slowing down the ageing process, etc.

Apart from eating healthy, it is a wise decision to purchase health insurance to help you reduce financial stress in times of medical emergencies.
