  4. Check your final USCIS application results. You'll get an I-797 approval notice if USCIS authorises you.
  5. To get your visa stamp, you must schedule an appointment with the US consulate. Prepare thoroughly for your interview and make sure to bring all necessary documents, including the Form I-797 approval notice, application fee receipt, passport, and others.

How Much Does it Cost for an Employer to Get an H-1B Visa?

The responsibility of paying the various fees for an H-1B visa primarily lies with the employer. Additionally, an employer cannot recover these payments from the employee. The following are the various H-1B visa fees involved:

  1. Base Filing Fee: USD 780
  2. ACWIA Fee: USD 750 or USD 1,500, depending on the employer having less or more than 25 workers.
  3. Fraud Prevention and Detection Fee: USD 500
  4. The "Big Business" Fee: USD 4,000 (for businesses having 50 or even more staff members and over half of the workforce on L-1 or H-1B visas)
  5. Registration Fee: USD 215
  6. Premium Processing Fee: USD 2,805 (this is an optional fee that enables you to skip the queue and get your visa approved in fifteen calendar days)
  7. Attorney Fees: Can range from USD 1,500 to USD 5,000
  8. New Asylum Program Fee: USD 600 (Began in 2024, mandating nearly all companies with 25 or more workers to pay a fee to fund the country’s asylum program. Those with fewer than 25 employees pay half the amount, while nonprofits are exempt)
