10 Points You Must Consider Before Buying A Sport Bike

Head towards safety gears first, at least get a certified helmet, jacket, gloves and boots.

The want for speed is inherent among most of us. We all have a tendency to go faster and faster. Same logic applies to two wheelers. If you are currently on a scooter, you will upgrade to a motorcycle. If you are on motorbike, then you will want to upgrade to a more powerful bike. Think power and a sport bike comes to mind. The thought is tempting and can often lead to hasty decisions. But like everything in life, sport bikes require money and quite a lot of sensible thinking. Here we give you 10 points to remember before you go for your first sport bike!

Proper Gear

First and foremost, never forget about buying proper sport bike gear. Head towards safety gears first, at least get a certified helmet, jacket, gloves and boots. Wearing safety gear is essential before heading out to ride, every time.

Keep in Mind the Fuel Prices

New bike buyers would be wrong to assume that fuel for their sport bike will be in any way cheaper. Fuel consumption depends largely on the number of cylinders, cubic capacity and your own riding style.

Services and Spares Will Be an Issue

The market in India is not ready for big bikes and finding spares for your bike will be very difficult (and expensive) if you don’t know where to search for them. If you are going for a bike like that, you should do so knowing very well the risks that come along with it.

Select the Bike as a Beginner

If you think riding a commuter 150cc motorcycle qualifies you to ride a sport bike, you have a huge misconception. You must choose a bike that is good for beginners for you to learn your way on it. Jumping to a high power bike on your first time makes the risk of an accident very high!

Go for a Second Hand One for Your First Time

Unless you have money to throw away, buy a used bike. It is always a better choice for your first time to go for a used bike when you are learning your way on it.

Take Time Out to Ride

You must take out time from your daily schedule to take out your bike for a ride. A proper running is required for the proper functioning and long life of your bike.

Do Not Be Overconfident

You think you are a sensible rider and have self-control, so you won't crash. Even the perfect rider can make a mistake and is at a risk of accident always. Remember, when you are riding, you are not the only person on the road.

Always Think About Yourself

The process of riding a motorcycle is just like climbing a ladder and you just can't get on top without going step by step. You are going to learn to be a good rider, so think about yourself rather than impressing people and your friends.

Driving and Riding Are Two Different Things

You must understand that riding a bike and driving are two different things and two different worlds as well. Cars are different machines from motorcycles and their driving and riding are not at all the same thing. So never mistake your proficiency on high-powered four wheelers, as a recipe for success in handling sport bikes as well.

Do Not Forget Insurance

Having two wheeler insurance will always work in your favour. Accidents can happen any time and insurance will help you cover the costs, preventing your out-of-pocket expenses.
