Personal vehicle owners also need to pay road tax in Rajasthan. The state charges a road tax on other state vehicles to maintain the road and ensure the safety of travellers. The tax is levied when vehicles within the state of Rajasthan for a long period, usually more than a specified period.

 

Road Tax For Other State Vehicles In Rajasthan

Vehicles that stay for some time (usually 30 days) must pay road tax. The amount of tax depends on the type of vehicle (two-wheeler, four-wheeler, commercial vehicle), engine capacity of the vehicle and the duration of stay.

Individuals can pay Rajasthan road tax online by visiting the official website of the Rajasthan Transport Department (https://vahan.parivahan.gov.in/vahanservice/vahan/ui/statevalidation/homepage.xhtml).

One has to enter the state as ‘Rajasthan’ and choose the relevant RTO. Then, one needs to add the relevant details like vehicle registration number and other details and proceed towards the payment gateways to pay the tax online.

Payment of this road tax is compulsory for long travel in Rajasthan. Online and proper documentation of the documents has made it easier for individuals to pay the road tax.

One has to pay a penalty of 5% of the tax due for each month of default or part thereof if they fail to pay the Rajasthan road tax within the time frame.
