Maintaining a steady body temperature, notwithstanding temperature changes in the external environment, is crucial. Your body temperature should be ideally between 36.5°C and 37.5°C; any reading beyond this range could indicate the onset of disease. Our body temperature changes slightly during different times of the day, which is normal, but once it goes above 38°C, it is considered fever. Our body temperature or body heat depends on our internal health and can change from external circumstances. Internal reasons may include dehydration, improper diet, insufficient exercise, and medical issues. We should prevent our bodies from being exposed to heat stress.

How to reduce body heat home remedies

Your body can regulate heat naturally if it experiences heat stress without signs of illness. You can also manage body heat externally; however, following specific easy natural/home remedies is always better to avoid problems arising from excess heat such as heat stroke. Some home remedies are listed below:

  • Drink natural
  • Apply Aloe vera gel
  • Drink buttermilk with mint leaves
  • Work out daily
  • Wear comfortable clothes

  • Home Remedy 1: Drinking natural

Drinking adequate amounts of fluid daily effectively reduces body heat and controls internal body heat. Doctors always recommend drinking enough normal water daily, besides drinking tender coconut water, which has a naturally cooling effect to make you feel relaxed and reduce your body temperature for longer intervals. In addition to water and coconut water, focus on having more fruit juices and water-loaded fruits such as watermelons whenever available.

  • Home Remedy 2: Application of Aloe vera gel

Aloe vera is full of hydrating ingredients, and applying aloe vera gel on the skin, particularly in the summer, will replenish your skin's texture and reduce your body temperature. Aloe vera gel also has a soothing effect on the skin as it repairs damaged skin. Besides, drinking aloe vera juice in small quantities or mixing it with water or any other juice will regulate your body temperature without needing to taste aloe vera's bitterness.

  • Home Remedy 3: Drinking cool buttermilk with mint leaves

Menthos, or mint, is well known for its cooling attributes. And when you add mint leaves to cool buttermilk, the cooling effect on the body gets enhanced even further. Buttermilk with mint is an age-old remedy to reduce body heat, while the taste is quite yummy. Buttermilk, a natural coolant, is full of health benefits—it aids digestion, prevents dehydration, boosts energy levels, and is enriched with calcium.

  • Home Remedy 4: Working out daily

Workouts, especially heavy workouts, increase body heat significantly, but they release sweat, which reduces body heat. Daily breathing exercises will also make you feel better and help reduce internal body heat. Further, breathing exercises facilitate thermoregulation, allowing your internal organs to work better as they function at optimal temperature levels.

  • Home Remedy 5: Wear comfortable and breathable clothes

The type of clothes you wear also determines your body heat. Wearing tight and synthetic clothes will increase your body heat. Hence, a person with higher than normal body heat or who tends to get heat stress quickly should wear loose, comfortable, and pure cotton clothes. Other natural fabrics, including linen and silk, also cool the body.

Conclusion

High body heat can be normal, especially during summer, but body temperature depends on various factors. We have learnt how to reduce body heat through home remedies and that to avoid heat stress, it is always easy and safe to adopt natural methods. Keeping yourself hydrated, cold pressing your head whenever needed, and taking a shower are some of the easiest natural ways to reduce heat. Exercising enough to sweat out the heat is also recommended, as it lowers internal body temperature with a lasting effect. However, if body heat remains high, it could stem from some underlying medical issue, which may be covered by health insurance. In such cases, you must immediately consult a physician.
