A new healthcare scheme launched for the senior citizens of Chandigarh

October 03 2016
Healthcare for Senior Citizens

Kushal Mitra, also called Doctor Aapke Dwaar, is a new healthcare scheme introduced by The Red Cross Society for the senior citizens of Chandigarh. This scheme is launched in collaboration with Indian Medical Association, Dabur Dhanwantari Hospital, Bharat Vikas Parishad and UT health department, Chandigarh.

Through this venture, senior citizens will receive all major health amenities in the secure atmosphere of their own home.

It has been estimated that 70% of medical requirements for an ordinary person can be catered to in their home. Due to nuclear families and erratic work schedules, a considerable group of elderly in Chandigarh live alone, and require competent health treatment at regular intervals. Owing to the inaccessibility of immediate aid at home, the elderly in Chandigarh find it difficult to manage trivial health issues in their household.

In order to cover this gap, this venture offers medical aid from reputed physicians and physiotherapists, laboratory tests, ECG, X-Ray and ambulance assistance at affordable prices.

Seminars on long-term sickness, cancer, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis and common medical knowledge will be held on November 1 by the Indian Red Cross Society, Chandigarh. This is done for the successful execution of this scheme. The registrations of the seminars would begin in October.

Here is the venue information of the proposed seminars:

  • October 6, Indian Red Cross Society, UT Branch, Karuna Sadan, Sector 11, Chandigarh
  • October 14, Community Centre, Sector 8
  • October 21, Community Centre, Sector 35
  • October 28, Community Centre, Sector 15
