About Suzuki two-wheeler insurance

Indian laws make two-wheeler insurance absolutely mandatory to ride any bike on Indians roads. For a premium, the policy protects the insured bike and the owner from unpleasant incidents such as road accidents, natural and manmade disasters, theft, and fire. In case a third party is injured, faces property damage or succumbs to an accident involving your Suzuki bike, a Suzuki bike insurance will compensate the third party for the losses. Suzuki motorcycle insurance is classified into three categories—comprehensive bike policy, third-party policy, and own-damage bike insurance. In case you want to enhance your policy cover, you can opt for one or more add-on covers in your policy.

What are the types of Suzuki bike insurance plans?

Listed below are three types of Suzuki bike insurance plans —

Comprehensive bike insurance

Comprehensive Bike Insurance

As the name suggests, this policy provides complete financial protection against incidents that could damage your vehicle. This includes protection from natural calamities, man-made disasters, fire and theft. Additionally, the policy also offers protection against third-party liabilities.

Third party bike insurance

Third-Party Bike Insurance

This is the basic coverage mandated by law to ride a bike in India legally. It provides financial protection against damage caused to pedestrians, motorists or their property by your insured bike. However, it does not cover damage to the insured bike itself. It is important to note that you cannot purchase add-on riders with third-party Suzuki bike insurance.

Standalone own damage bike insurance

Standalone Own Damage Bike Insurance

As the name suggests, the policy only covers damage to the insured bike from incidents such as natural disasters, theft and more. You can purchase this plan only if you have active third-party liability coverage. Adding riders to increase the coverage scope is also available under this plan.

About Suzuki bikes

The history of Suzuki in India dates back to 1982, when it entered the market in collaboration with TVS Motor. Those were the days when Suzuki was winning the hearts of bike enthusiasts with the Ind-Suzuki AX100. However, two decades later, in 2001, the collaboration ended, and Suzuki re-entered the market independently in 2006. Since then, it has launched several successful models, including the Gixxer series, Hayabusa, Access 125 and Intruder.

Frequently asked questions about Suzuki bike insurance

What is the IDV in Suzuki motorcycle insurance?

The IDV (Insured Declared Value) in Suzuki motorcycle insurance refers to the maximum sum an insurer will pay in case of total loss or theft of the bike. It is based on the motorcycle's market value, which is further affected by depreciation and make & model.

What are the benefits of buying a Suzuki two-wheeler multi-year package policy?

When you buy a long-term policy, you enjoy continuous coverage and remain unaffected by any premium hikes by the IRDAI for the third-party component of your insurance or by the insurer for your own damage cover.

Why is depreciation charged on my Suzuki two-wheeler insurance?

Depreciation applies to vehicles because their value decreases over time due to wear and tear. When you file a claim, the insurer considers the depreciated cost of parts while compensating for repairs or replacement invoices. The IRDAI has fixed the depreciation rates for bikes and various components.

Why should I buy comprehensive insurance for my Suzuki bike or scooter?

Comprehensive insurance for your Suzuki bike provides extensive financial protection by covering third-party liabilities, theft and accidental damage to your vehicle. It also safeguards against natural calamities, fire and vandalism.

What are the add-on covers in Suzuki insurance for two-wheelers?

Add-on covers in Suzuki bike insurance include zero depreciation cover, engine protection, roadside assistance, consumables cover and no-claim bonus.

What is a cashless bike insurance claim for Suzuki bikes?

A cashless bike insurance claim for Suzuki bikes allows you to get your bike repaired at an insurer-approved garage without paying upfront. The insurer directly settles the repair costs, while you only have to pay the deductibles or non-covered expenses.

What documents are required for Suzuki insurance claims?

For Suzuki insurance claims, you will need the insurance policy, vehicle registration certificate, driver's license, a copy of the FIR (if applicable), claim form, repair estimate and original repair bills. Include photos of the damage and the accident site as well.

How to reduce your Suzuki bike insurance premiums?

To reduce your Suzuki bike insurance premiums, opt for higher voluntary deductibles, install anti-theft devices, maintain a clean driving record, and avoid unnecessary claims. Timely renewal and choosing the add-on coverage carefully can also help.
