New car registration charges in Delhi are a one-time payment that must be made when purchasing a new car. Car costs include other costs beyond the showroom price, namely Delhi RTO registration charges, road tax in Delhi for new cars, and a few more.

Road Tax in Delhi For new cars

The Delhi RTO car registration charges are calculated depending on the ex-showroom price of a vehicle. RTO charges for a new car in Delhi, depending on its fuel-used type, are as follows:

  • Petrol cars:

Priced up to Rs 6 lakh: 4% of ex-showroom price

Priced between Rs 6-10 lakh: 7% of ex-showroom price

Priced above Rs 10 lakh: 10% of ex-showroom price

  • Diesel cars

Priced up to Rs 6 lakh: 5% of ex-showroom price

Priced between Rs 6-10 lakh: 8.75% of ex-showroom price

Priced up to Rs 10 lakh: 12.5% of ex-showroom price 

Road Tax in Delhi For cars

The rate of road tax in Delhi for a car registered in a company's name is higher than that of individual owners.

Car road tax in Delhi for company-registered cars is as follows:

  • Priced up to Rs 6 lakh: 5% on petrol cars, 6.25% on diesel cars
  • Priced between Rs 6-10 lakh: 8.75% on petrol and 10.94% on diesel cars
  • Price above Rs 10 lakh: 12.5% on petrol, 15.625% on diesel cars

To get the vehicle's RC, clear payment for all taxes and Delhi RTO charges for new cars promptly.
