  • May increase risk of kidney stones: High salt intake can increase calcium levels in urine. This may lead to kidney stones, especially if you don’t drink enough water. It is better to use black salt in small amounts.
  • Can raise blood pressure: Even though it has less sodium than table salt, black salt still contains sodium. People with high blood pressure or heart disease should be careful and avoid taking too much. Limiting intake to less than one teaspoon a day is safer.
