● Canton tower

Built by Guangzhou New Television Tower Group, the tower has earned a favourable reputation for its capacity to withstand earthquakes measuring 7.8 on the richter scale. Its expected lifespan is more than a century. Besides serving as a sightseeing place, the tower transmits TV signals, frequency modulation (FM) radio signals, and microwave signals.

The park is home to thousands of animals, including white tigers, a top-tier giant panda centre, giant salamanders, and much more. Its standout feature is a trio of panda cubs born in the park in mid-2014, the sole surviving panda triplets worldwide.

● Chen clan ancestral hall

This hall tops the list of places to see in Guangzhou. Two Chinese-American students set up the Hall while preparing for the confucian imperial examinations. The hall provided accommodation and resources to assist students in their exam preparation. The hall embodies the traditional Lingnan architectural style, showcasing exquisite examples of 'brick carving, wood carving, stone carving, clay sculpture, and pottery sculpture'. Constructed between 1888 and 1894, this Hall serves as a treat for people worldwide to watch.

  • This architectural wonder has treasures of wood carving. On doors, intricate wood carvings depict historical narratives and folklore, including tales like 'Wangmu's Birthday,' 'Ancient Summit in Spring and Autumn,' and 'The General's Seal.'
  • The hall also houses multiple wood, stone, and clay sculptures. These are a must-watch.

● Huacheng square

The square occupies a 56 sq km area and presents stunning views. Haixinsha island is to its south, and huangpu avenue decorates the northern side of huacheng square. Opened in 2010, the square is a tourist attraction for all the right reasons. Below the square, you'll find the mall of the world, spanning 150,000 square metres, managed by Hong Kong's Lan Kwai Fong group. It's surrounded by five-star hotels and office buildings that host fortune 500 companies.

● Baiyun mountain

The mountain is considered the lung of Guangzhou because it has a forest coverage of 28 square kilometres. You can take electric vehicles to explore the area. The following routes are traversed:

  • South gate to peak square
  • Peak square to moxing summit
  • Peak square to mingzhu house
  • Mingzhu house to west gate
