If you are planning to visit the land of Pharaohs shortly, here’s some good news for you. Unlike some other foreign destinations where you have to get your visa before arrival, Egypt offers a visa on arrival for Indian citizens. This will at least help you tick off one of the tasks that needs attention before you embark on your journey.

Does Egypt Offer Visa on Arrival for Indians?

To your respite, the answer is ‘Yes.’ This visa permits a stay of up to 30 days and is primarily available at major entry points, including airports in Cairo and other international airports too. However, if you want to stay for a longer period for business or work, it is better to apply for the appropriate visa beforehand.

Requirements for Visa on Arrival:

  • Passport Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival in Egypt.

  • Visa Fee: The visa on arrival fee is approximately USD 25, payable in cash.

  • Supporting Documents: While not always mandatory, it's advisable to carry:
Return or Onward Ticket: Proof of return or onward travel.
Accommodation Details: Confirmation of hotel reservations or an invitation letter from a host in Egypt.

Conclusion

Before traveling, it's recommended to check the latest visa regulations and requirements, as policies can change. Consulting the official Egyptian consulate or embassy in India will provide the most accurate and up-to-date information. Also, make sure you get travel insurance to stay covered for medical emergencies, flight delays or cancellations to ensure a smooth trip.
