The question, “Where can I see Panda?” is common among tourists worldwide, as they are enamoured by the cuddly, gentle animals. Others may be more particular and ask, “Where can I see giant pandas?” Well, giant pandas are native to China. They are a vulnerable species endemic to six mountainous regions of southwestern China and within the Sichuan, Gansu, and Shanxi provinces.

Approximately 300 pandas live in breeding centres and zoos worldwide, with the majority found in China. Today, the black and white giant pandas are a national icon for China, and they are leased to zoos all over the world. However, it’s only at Dujiangyan Panda Base and Center for Disease Control, located two hours away from Chengdu, where you can get a chance to hold a baby panda bear.
