The Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) provides the Indian passport to the country's citizens through its various Regional Passport Offices (RPOs) and Passport Seva Kendras (PSKs). The passport identifies and establishes the owner's nationality. It enables the owner to visit other countries for various reasons, including business, education, healthcare, work, tourism, pilgrimage & others.
The MEA provides passports to eligible citizens through a vast network of 180 embassies and consulates, 37 RPOs, and several PSKs. One such PSK is in Alappuzha, Kerala. This southern Indian state has the highest number of non-resident citizens compared to other Indian states.
