Once you apply for a Portugal visa, you’ll have to check its status after some time. This process is known as the Portugal visa status check. The time it takes for visa approval depends on the visa type you applied for. Tracking helps you to know your visa status as to whether it’s ‘approved’, ‘rejected’, or ‘pending’. You can do a Portugal visa check online by visiting the official website.

Here’s a step-by-step guide to know your visa status.

How To Check Portugal Visa Status Online?

Follow the procedure below for further details on how to check Portugal visa status online via the VFS official portal:

  • Visit the VFS official website.
  • Type in your visa application reference number.
  • Give your date of birth.
  • You’ll see a captcha text on the page. Enter the required digits and click ‘Submit’.
  • Your Portugal visa status should appear on the page as ‘approved’, ‘rejected’, or ‘pending’.

Note: After making the application, keep your visa invoice since you’ll need it to track visa application Portugal online. The VFS tracking feature usually recommends an invoice reference number for anyone wishing to track their online application status. You can’t do the Portugal visa check with the passport number.

Alternatively, you can also do the Portugal visa check through the offline method. Go and check out the availability of the service at the VFS Global Centre, where you applied for the visa. That way, you can get an update on your visa application status from VFS Global through an email update. You can also receive an update on the status of your visa sent to your phone via an SMS service.

Conclusion

As an Indian Citizen wishing to travel to Portugal, you must first apply for a visa through the VFS portal, or Portugal’s visa application centre. After applying, you can conduct your visa tracking Portugal using the same portal. If the visa status reads ‘approved’, you can now proceed with planning for the rest of your trip. However, if the application reads ‘rejected’, you should try correcting your mistakes and then reapply.
