The Dubai administrative authorities issue mainly two types of visas. One is for the visitors and the other for those planning to reside there for a long period. There are many sub-types to these two main Dubai visa categories. You should check and apply for the right one depending on your nationality, purpose of visit and the intended duration of stay.

Let’s understand the different kinds of visas in Dubai allotted for travellers or tourists.

Types of Dubai Tourist Visas

When planning a trip to the city, you should check the Dubai visa types and the costs associated with each one.  The different types of tourist visas provided by the UAE government are listed below.

Single Entry Tourist Visa

This is one of the prearranged Dubai visit visa types. It allows travellers to enter the UAE only once during the visa's validity period. This visa has two sub-types, each offering a different validity period: 30 and 60 days.

Multiple Entry Tourist Visa

A multiple-entry tourist visa for Dubai allows travellers to enter and exit the UAE multiple times within the visa's validity period. This type of visa is ideal for those who plan to visit the city several times during their stay or may want to travel to neighbouring countries before returning to Dubai. Multiple-entry visas are also of two types: one with a validity of 30 days and the other with 60 days. Additionally, there is a multiple-entry long-term visa that allows tourists to stay for five years.

While planning your trip to Dubai, it’s important to consider travel insurance options to secure your journey. For those visiting only once, single trip travel insurance is a cost-effective solution, providing coverage for medical emergencies, trip cancellations, and other unforeseen circumstances during your travel. However, frequent travellers may find comprehensive travel insurance plans more suitable to cover multiple visits.

Visa on Arrival

The UAE government offers visas on arrival for travellers from several countries. Nationals from some countries are given a tourist visa at the airport of arrival for 30 days, and some other international travellers are given a multiple-entry visa with a 90-day stay permit. Indian citizens holding a US green card, USA visa, UK residence, or EU residence also qualify for the visa on arrival, which is valid for 14 days and is a single-entry visa. Mexican citizens can get a multiple-entry tourist visa on arrival, valid for 180 days.

Conclusion

When you are planning a trip to Dubai, ensure you get a travel insurance plan. It will help you get compensation in case of flight cancellation and baggage loss. It even covers the insured in case of ill health.
