insurance offers wide protection, it doesn’t cover everything. Knowing what’s excluded helps you avoid
surprises at the time of a claim. Here’s a simple look at what is not covered under Extended Warranty
Insurance.

Mechanical and electrical breakdowns
Covers the failure of eligible mechanical or electrical parts arising
from a manufacturing defect and/or permitted use of the insured car.

Repair or replacement of covered parts
Pays eligible costs to repair or replace covered parts, as specified in
the Policy Schedule and subject to the deductible, Sum Insured, terms and
conditions.

Normal wear and tear
Wear, ageing or corrosion of parts such as brake pads, clutch plates,
batteries, tyres, belts, hoses, filters and wiper blades is not covered.

Routine maintenance
Regular servicing and jobs such as cleaning, tuning, oil or fluid
changes, AC servicing, wheel alignment and wheel balancing are not covered.

Consumables
Engine oil, gear oil, brake oil, coolant, AC gas, grease, battery
electrolyte and washer fluid are not covered, unless replacement is required as part
of an admissible repair.

Accidental or external damage
Loss caused by an accident, external impact, fire, flood, theft,
vandalism or other external events is not covered.

Misuse or poor maintenance
Damage caused by hard driving, overloading, improper use, poor-quality
fuel or failure to follow the manufacturer’s service requirements is not covered.

Unauthorised parts or modifications
Damage linked to non-genuine parts, accessories or modifications not
approved by the manufacturer is not covered

Known defects and continued use
Continuing to use the car after becoming aware of a defect can make the
warranty claim inadmissible.

Repairs without prior approval
Repairs started before notifying the insurer and obtaining approval are
not covered.

Parts covered by another warranty
Repair or replacement of parts covered under the manufacturer warranty
or another warranty programme is not covered.

Excluded or unlisted parts
Parts not included in the selected coverage or specifically excluded
under the Policy Schedule and policy wording are not covered.
