What is roadside assistance in two-wheeler insurance policy?

Road Side Assistance cover is an add-on with two-wheeler insurance (bike insurance). This add-on provides emergency services through its network garages or network service providers. Services include towing on breakdown/accident, breakdown support over the phone, arrangement of fuel, etc. It’s wise to opt for roadside assistance (RSA) add-on for peace of mind. You can avail of this add-on by paying an additional premium.

Why do you need RSA cover for your bike?

There are many reasons as to why you need roadside assistance coverage. Some of them are:

Sudden breakdowns

Even if your bike is well-maintained, a sudden mechanical failure can leave you stranded on the road. It could be a flat tyre, a dead battery or an engine issue. With roadside assistance cover, you don’t have to worry. Help reaches you wherever you are. This minimises stress and saves time.

Prevents unexpected costs

Getting help on the road can cost a lot without roadside assistance coverage. Be it towing or emergency fuel delivery, charges can be quite high. This add-on offers these services along with others. It saves you from last-minute spending and keeps your repair budget in check.

Mental peace

When you're on a long trip or riding in unfamiliar areas, peace of mind matters. Roadside assistance cover ensures that if anything goes wrong, professional help is just a call away. This is especially useful if you're far from a service centre or in a remote location.

Long-distance riders

If you love long weekend rides or often take road trips on your bike bikes, you can opt for this cover. When you're far from home or in remote areas, getting help isn’t always easy. Roadside assistance ensures you can get towing, fuel delivery or mechanic support in unfamiliar places.

Non-technical owners

Not everyone knows how to fix a puncture or jump-start a battery. If you're someone who isn’t confident handling bike troubles on your own, you can opt for this cover. It lets you avoid the stress of figuring things out on the spot in difficult situations.

Inexperienced riders

If you’re new to biking, you might not know what to do during a breakdown. Having a roadside assistance cover gives you confidence while you're still learning. You can focus on your ride, knowing that someone has your back if things go wrong.
