Belgium is known for its historic cities, art and architecture, castles, beaches and the most extensive variety of food and beverages in the world. It holds an important place in world history. Here are some note-worthy destinations to visit:

  • Discover the hidden architectural treasures in Brussels

There are more castles per square mile in Belgium to visit than anywhere else in the world; with over 3000 to explore, it is hard to know where to start. Brussels is the capital of Belgium, known to be historic, yet hip. Visit the Grande Palace, surely one of the world's most beautiful squares, to be a part of the Belgian city life.

  • Witness the magical charm of Bruges

Bruges is a spectacular dream-like destination with soaring towers that cast a dramatic effect in the evening light. Built like a fairy-tale medieval town, its winding canals link photogenic market squares and historic churches together.

There is a special charm in spring when Daffodils carpet the tranquil courtyard of the historic Begijnhof retreat and the town turns magnificently icy in the winter. Take a walk and visit the 14th century town hall, Belfry tower, cathedral of the holy saviour, and busy market squares.

  • Stroll through the cobbled-stoned winding pathways of Antwerp

Antwerp, the second largest city in Belgium, is known for its cobbled lanes and quaint architecture. Go shopping for souvenirs and experience extraordinary variety of local food and beverages. Revisit your childhood at the Antwerp zoo, located in the centre of Antwerp next to the train station. Open since 1843, it is one of the oldest and most famous zoos in the world. There are several exhibits and unusual garden features to be seen, including attractive animal sculptures.

I was travelling with my friends to Brussels, Belgium. We had finally managed to get tickets for Tomorrowland. The first day went amazingly well, but when we came back to our tents, we found that my friend and I are missing our luggage. Thanks to ICICI Lombard travel insurance, we received prompt service when we needed it the most.

We went to Belgium on our second anniversary. In the second week of our trip, we went to Ardennes forest as my husband is a huge nature fan. Unfortunately, he had an accident on one of the nature trails and broke his ribs, while sustaining 3 fractures in his right arm. It was a good thing that I had convinced him to opt for ICICI Lombard travel insurance; we got our hospital bills reimbursed.
