Indian Car Maker to Launch 4 Cars in 2012

India's major car manufacturer Maruti Suzuki plans to introduce at least 4 cars in 2012 across diverse sectors to dismiss a mediocre 2011 and recover market share that dunked under 40 percent this financial year.

The company strategizes to enter the multi-passenger subdivision with its all-new Ertiga. This is not all! A compact version of its super-popular Dzire would soon hit the market. This will be most probably next month. The soon to be launched Ertiga will be powered by the K14 (1.4-litre) engine. It will also include a 1.3 litre multijet diesel variation. It works towards regaining about 50 percent market share by the year 2015. However, it still doubts a substantial dint in manufacture this year.

According to S. Nakanishi, the managing director and CEO of Maruti Suzuki India (MSI ), the current sales of the company will more likely drop in this financial year as compared to 2010-11. He also added that the company lost about 1,00,000 units this financial year due to various strikes. The CEO believes that the slowdown has also resulted in huge demand for various vehicles. Mt. Nakanishi declared this at the 11th Auto Expo in Delhi recently.

Maruti also plans to renovate its largest selling small car Alto, which was introduced in the year 1999. It still continues to rule the Indian roads. Alto is currently enjoying its fame as the largest selling car in the world. The company is sure of the fact that the latest upgraded version of this car will boost its fortunes in the small car division. Moreover, the corporation aims to introduce a fresh entry level 800 that certainly replace its primogenital selling car, the M800.

The corporation has also reduced its prediction for exports in the present financial, supposing to vend `1.25 lakh units in the foreign markets against `1.47 lakh units in Financial Year 2011.
