The start of each year brings with it new launches by bike manufacturers. From among the launches expected this year, here are some of the most anticipated ones.
Bajaj Pulsar 150 NS
Estimated Price: ₹75,000
Expected Launch: August 2018
Another addition to Pulsar family, it is expected to have the 150cc engine that was once doing duty in the AS150. That means it will produce 16.8 bhp and 13 Nm of torque from the 149.5cc, single cylinder air-cooled engine. Power will be sent through a 5-speed manual transmission with the top speed likely to touch 120 kph.
Hero Extreme 200S
Estimated Price: Around ₹95,000
Expected Launch: March 2018
There are big expectations from this Hero bike after the success of Hero Extreme. It will come with a 200cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine putting out 18.2 bhp and 17.2Nm of torque. The drive will be sent to the wheels through a 5-speed gearbox, with the bike pegged to give a fuel economy of 40 kpl.
Hero Xpulse
Estimated Price: Around ₹1.2 lakh
Expected Launch: April 2018
This adventure motorcycle will come in as a successor to the Impulse. It will be powered by a bigger 200cc, single cylinder, air-cooled engine that will put out 20 bhp more than its predecessor. It is expected to be agile as it weighs just 140 kg. Among the features are likely to be a digital instrument cluster, tall windscreen and luggage rack. Once launched, it will go up against the bigger and more powerful Royal Enfield Himalayan.
BMW G310R
Estimated Price: ₹2.2-2.4 lakh
Expected Launch: September 2018
The cheapest BMW bike that will be available in India! The motorcycle was first showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, but the launch is rumoured to take place later this year. The bike is powered by a 313cc, single cylinder engine putting out 33.5 bhp and 28 Nm of maximum torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox. It will be manufactured at TVS Motor’s Hosur plant and will rival the KTM 390 Duke and Mahindra Mojo for market share.
